Congratulations to Sulaiman Zainul Abidin, IAP on his recent appointment to the position of Chief Operating Officer of Pioneer Aerodrome Services Co., Ltd, the Airport Developer and Operator for Yangon and Naypyitaw Airports of Myanmar, respectively the largest city and the capital of the country.

The first IAP from the island country of Singapore to receive the designation in 2010, Sulaiman formerly served at Singapore Changi Airport [SIN] as an Airport Manager and was instrumental in the successful opening of its Terminal 3 and Budget Terminal. Working with Singapore Airport Terminal Services (SATS) and Singapore Airlines (SIA), he also coordinated the facilitation of the first wide-scale Airbus A380 airport compatibility tests outside of Europe. In 2008, Sulaiman was appointed at King Fahd International Airport [DMM] in Saudi Arabia, to serve as Manager, Performance Standards & Customer Service, contributing to the airport’s ASQ rankings to gain three spots to 4th in the Middle-East region.

As the Founder and Director of Aeroscape, a consulting firm specialized in technical advisory, regulatory compliance and training in the business of aviation, Sulaiman provided assistance in the enhancement of the service quality program at Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport [BKK], in the context of the ACI Airport Service Quality (ASQ) initiative for which BKK subsequently saw a marked improvement in its assessment by passengers.

Sulaiman is also currently an IAP Community of Practice elected Board Member. He holds an MBA in Aviation from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (2007) and an Aerospace Engineering degree from the University of Michigan (2002). He is concurrently an Instructor for the Global ACI-ICAO AMPAP and an adjunct lecturer for the Diploma of Aviation at Singapore’s Temasek Polytechnic. He occasionally shares his knowledge, personal and professional experiences at local and international conferences, seminars and training courses.
